Arrive in Cumberland at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and meet your tour guide. Your day will begin at the C&O Canal Visitors Center where you and your's will enjoy the Canal Museum (no charge).
Then it's time to board "Mountain Thunder"; steam train for an exciting ride through Maryland’s most pristine mountains to Frostburg. First Class riders will have a catered meal on the first class dining car.
Upon arriving at the Old Depot in Frostburg watch the train turn around on the turntable. Then visit the Thrasher Carriage Museum which houses over fifty restored horse drawn carriages and sleighs including Teddy Roosevelt's inaugural carriage.
Coach Class riders can enjoy a "Hobo" boxed lunch, have lunch at the snack café at the Old Depot or your motor coach can pick you up and go to a local restaurant.
Return to Cumberland and tour Emmanuel Episcopal Church built on the original site of Fort Cumberland (1755). The English Tudor-style church features three beautiful Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows. You can explore tunnels underneath the church that protected George Washington's soldiers and "Underground Railroad Travelers".
