The Allegany County Library System is one of 24 public library systems in Maryland. It consists of six branches, including the Main Branch on Washington Street in Cumberland, as well as branches in Frostburg, George's Creek, LaVale, South Cumberland, and Westernport. A Bookmobile is headquartered at the LaVale Branch.
Children aged 3-6 years are encouraged to attend this program of stories, films, and activities just for them at their local branch of the Allegany County Library System.
The South Cumberland Teen Book Talk for grades 6-12 will meet to discuss recent book releases, upcoming bestsellers, and what books are most popular with teens.
The LaVale Library and Allegany County Bookmobile are celebrating the Allegany County Library System’s 50th Anniversary with an Old Fashioned 50’s Sock Hop.
