The Shuman Life Center is a peaceful place that John and Amy Shuman have established as a haven where they live and work. They awake each day, asking for "all possibilities" to emerge for them. Together, for nearly 30 years, they have been wellness leaders in the tri-state area of Western Maryland and nearby West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
As part of their wellness activities, the Shumans share fantastic works of art. Amy's fiber art sculpture is featured year-round in the revolving gallery at the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort and "Along the TowPath" at The Shops at Canal Place.
John specializes in "catching the magic of the moment" with his contemporary photography. He is very much into "shapes, forms & motion" in everyday life. His photography is growing & changing as he sees things with a different viewpoint everyday. John's framed fine art photography may be viewed year-round in the revolving gallery at the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort. His photographs may also be enjoyed: www.johnshumanimages.com. John welcomes your calls regarding vitamins, herbs and exercise, "clear your clutter consulting," and individual or small group bread baking classes.
The Shuman Life Center is located on 44 acres, and, each spring, near one of the ravines and just over the crest of a small hill, millions of May Apples bloom.
They cover the valley near the winding stream. This tranquil place has become a stillness respite for Amy and John to sit quietly and enjoy Mother Nature and all the animals and birds that live nearby.
Amy offers "To The Woods!!," private and small group mini vision quests with nature. She joins and supports your process as you walk and sit in stillness in the MayApple Valley or other sacred locations on the land that she and John tend. Amy also is Reiki II and welcomes calls regarding appointments. Peaceful Knitting Gatherings are offered twice monthly. A calendar on the website gives details.
