"The Narrows"

"The Narrows" is a compact, notched valley that Wills Creek has carved into Wills and Haystack mountains. The National Road passes through this steep, narrow river valley located in Cumberland.

On the northeast side of Wills Mountain sits a spot known as Lover's Leap. The name comes from a Native American legend about a jilted lover who met his end by jumping off this ledge. Visitors to the area can enjoy the beauty of "The Narrows" up close from The Fruit Bowl parking lot along The National Road.
