Nancy Biggs earned her teacherís displeasure in the first grade in Shinnston, WV, by announcing ďAll grapes REALLY arenít the same shade of purple and don't look like a triangle full of nickels.Ē Since then she has found her own way in art. Miss Shreve is long gone.
A Home Economics major in college, she marketed batik articles as well as custom designed clothing in Illinois and Pennsylvania. In Maryland she designed and knit sweaters, and demonstrated spinning, weaving and dyeing, as well as quilting. Watercolor and pottery classes the past eight years have broadened her activities.
She is a member of the Western Maryland Watercolor Society, Allegany Arts Council, Allegany Area Art Alliance, Artists at Canal Place, and the Garrett County Arts Council. Her work may be seen at Rocky Gap and in various locales in Allegany and Garrett County.
