Working as an accounting professor for many years was most rewarding, but music is a love. Most professional playing ended years ago, but I have played for Rocky Gap’s dining room on New Year’s Eve, numerous weekend nights at Rocky Gap over the past 12 years, playing for tips. And I’ve joyously played at the WMHS, Seville, Spain, Gold Coast, Australia, Rotorua, New Zealand, Kansas City, cruise ships in the Caribbean, and elsewhere in my travels for talent shows, traveling companions, and anyone who wanted to listen.
Repertoire includes the Eagles, the Doors, Man of La Mancha, Midnight Cowboy, George Benson, self-composed jazz works, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Carly Simon, Santo and Johnny, Sergio Mendes, Phantom of the Opera, the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Moody Blues, Carousel, Gershwin, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, and many more.
It’s nothing fancy, but people can play “name that tune.” And, if I’m using my keyboard, we can even try a little karaoke. I can’t sing, but hopefully you can.
