Canal Boat Replica "The Cumberland"

Located along the Trestle Walk at Canal Place, The Cumberland allows visitors to learn about life in the heyday of the canal. Guides in period clothing discuss the history of the C&O Canal and daily life aboard a canal boat. Visitors can tour the mule shed, hay house, and furnished Captain's cabin. Stand at the tiller and picture yourself on the historic C&O Canal with a load of coal bound for Georgetown! This full-scale replica canal boat, measuring approximately 93 feet long and 14.5 feet wide was constructed in 1976.
