This revived local tradition is a great reason to gather friends and family to enjoy the beauty of Cumberland’s impression historic architecture in full holiday splendor.
One of Cumberland’s best-loved events, the tour is sponsored by the Western Maryland Heritage Association, which includes all the museums in Allegany and Garrett counties. All of our efforts are designed to increase tourism to our area and make Allegany County a destination for heritage tourism.
Featured homes on the tour change annually. There is a free trolley shuttle between each stop.
The 2016 edition features homes in the city's unique Dingle district, developed in the early 20th century by English landscape architects working for the Celanese Corporation to house their executives. Added charm in the form of horse-mounted carolers tops off the 2016 tour.
Tickets go on sale on November 1st at the Book Center in Cumberland. The tour is scheduled for December 10, 2016 from 2-6 pm. More details can be found at www.cumberlandhistorytours.com.
