From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

CES at Frostburg State University presents the renowned New Your City-based theatre company ArtsPower in “From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 in the FSU Pealer Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.

Based on the beloved Newbery Medal-winning book by E.L. Konigsburg, this enchanting musical follows Claudia Kincaid and her brother Jamie up the stone steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and right into the middle of an adventure surrounding a mysterious statue that may or may not be the work of Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo.

Since 1985, ArtsPower has presented literature-based musicals for young people across the country. Working closely with some of America’s most beloved authors, including Judy Blume, Lois Lowry and Paula Danziger, they create one-hour, one-act productions based on classic children’s books.

Performance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 17. Member and group discount rates are also available. Tickets may be ordered online by visiting or by calling 1-866-849-9237 or 301-687-3137. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Performance tickets are also available for school groups wishing to see the performance as part of CES’ Arts for the School Day program. Four school day performances will take place November 7, 8 and 9. Educators interested in school day performances may contact the box office, or email [email protected]
