Loretta Hummel of Frostburg, MD is a singer and acoustic songwriter who has recorded and released several music albums. She plays guitar with her current band, Loretta Hummel & Country Grass, who performs in the tri-state area. The band plays a variety of country, gospel and bluegrass at several venues including the Heritage Days and the Berlin Music Festival in PA.
Loretta was recently featured in the Allegany Magazine. Hummel has performed in a variety of places including the Appalachian Festival, Berlin Music Festival, Burlington Apple Festival, Saturday’s on Broadway, Friday After Five, Heritage Days and has participated in Cumberland’s “We’ve Got Talent”. Hummel has twice received the Silver Heart Lyricist award, and the Silver Heart Yodeler award for performance of her music in the Eastern Division of the Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) of Branson Missouri.
She was ordained as a Music Minister during the 2012 CGMA Eastern Division Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Loretta Hummel was named the Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2014 CGMA Eastern Division Convention in Toledo, Ohio. She performs her music ministry at local churches, nursing homes, and other organizations.
Loretta performs on a regular basis. She volunteers her music at the Goodwill Mennonite Home and other care facilities, in local churches, at reunions, and she takes occasional commissions for wedding and anniversary receptions and funerals.
