ON THE RUN BAND is composed of a singing duo, Joe and Betty Stallard, who reside in Lavale, MD.  They perform traditional country, gospel and bluegrass on the east coast, from Pennsylvania to Florida.  Betty began singing gospel music in church at the age of five and began playing piano at age twelve.  She traveled with a gospel band, THE GOSPEL SONSHINERS, for 10 years playing piano and singing.  Joe began his singing career at the age of five, singing “Kentucky Waltz” for Bill Monroe.  He played lead guitar with the Sanders Brothers in Norton, Virginia, on WNVA for three years.  Joe was the lead singer and guitarist for Blue Velvet Band for five years based in Orange, Virginia.  Southern Grass is the band he sang and played Dobro with for nine years originating in Arcadia Florida.   Joe and Betty combined their musical talents and formed ON THE RUN ten years ago, Joe plays guitar and Betty plays bass as their voices harmonize, often they include a professional lead guitarist, banjo or fiddle player.   They perform at festivals, churches, special events and private parties.   ON THE RUN has recorded twelve albums of traditional country, gospel and bluegrass music.
