Lynne Barnes on the Celtic Harp and Roger Dale on the Flauto Dolce play light classical and Celtic music for weddings, receptions, dinners, concerts and other venues.
Barnes is a graduate of Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA. She has taught music and served as an organist and choir director in New England, the mid-Atlantic region and Washington State. In addition to her public performances, she gives private lessons in harp, piano, guitar and Appalachian dulcimer. She is presently Music Director at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on Frederick Street in Cumberland.
Dale began playing Flauto Dolce while at the University of Minnesota and plays the full family of instruments. He has taught and performed in California and throughout the mid-Atlantic area. Locally, he has founded and directed the Consort Antigua, a quintet of Medieval and Renaissance instrumentalists.
Barnes and Dale began performing together six years ago. Since their partnership started, they have performed in Maryland, West Virginia and Northern Virginia at a variety of weddings, Celtic gatherings, concerts, receptions and other occasions. They also perform for the annual Downtown Cumberland Hooley celebration each March and other Celtic events such as the McHenry Games. They have released their first recording, "The Holly and the Ivy," a tape of traditional and non-traditional Christmas music. This has been re-released, with additional music, as a CD. Their second CD is "Scotch Mist is Essentially Irish," released four years ago. These CDs are available by the artists or from Amazon.com or CDBaby.com.
