CES at Frostburg State University will present the traditional Irish musicians of the Brock McGuire Band in a LIVE! at StarScape club performance on Saturday, April 8, in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall of FSU's Lane University Center. The 7:30 p.m. event features table and bar service and a menu of appetizers and desserts.The band is known in Ireland for its passion, precision and authenticity. Tuneful instrumentation is showcased in a diverse repertoire that emphasizes traditional Irish music and impressive arrangements of American old-timey, bluegrass, French-Canadian and Celtic traditions.Two of Ireland's most celebrated traditional musicians lead the band: button accordionist and melodeonist Paul Brock and fiddler Manus McGuire. Together, they have been at the forefront of Irish music for many years. Joining them are Dublin-based Garry O'Meara on banjo, mandolin and vocals and acclaimed pianist and composer Denis Carey.Immediately following the performance, the musicians will join WFWM Station Director Chuck Dicken for an interactive session as part of the Offstage With WFWM program.Performance tickets are $22 for adults and $19.80 for youth under 17.
