The History of LaVale presentation

On Saturday, April 29, the Friends of the LaVale Library will continue their Lecture series with a presentation by Al Feldstein.

As an award-winning amateur historian he has, since 1980, published over 26 books, prints, posters and videotapes depicting the history of all three Western Maryland Counties (Allegany, Garrett and Washington), as well as nearby West Virginia. His publications have focused upon such varied subjects as historic postcards, newspapers, floods, historic gravesites, downtown Cumberland, pictorial histories, communities, coal mining, railroads and tour guides to historic sites.

The presentation, entitled "The History of LaVale" will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the LaVale Library. It is free and open to the public. For more information, contact LaVale Library at 301-729-0855.
