Minecraft Play

January 19, 2017 - October 19, 2017

Allegany County Library System

The Allegany County Library System announces a new Minecraft gaming program to be held at the George's Creek Library. "Minecraft Play" is intended for all ages. Gamers can learn and improve their math skills. As they build houses, towers, castles and roads, gamers naturally explore concepts such as counting, length, area and volume, and they can learn how to use these ideas in practice to construct objects. The game also gives players opportunities to learn and practice multiplication and division.

The opening game night is to be held on Thursday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. Games nights will continue to be held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Due to limited number of computers provided, registration is required. Call the George's Creek Library at 301-463-2629 or go online @ alleganycountylibrary.info and find the event on the Event Calendar under Events. Look for Library Programs and Events.
