The Moscow Festival Ballet returns to western Maryland with "Cinderella." The performance, presented by CES at Frostburg State University, occurs on Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in FSU's Pealer Performing Arts Center Drama Theatre.Based on the classic rags-to-riches story, "Cinderella's" fairy godmother, evil stepmother, charming prince and wicked stepsisters all come to life in Moscow Festival Ballet's magical adaptation. Set to Sergei Prokofiev's magical score, the colorful ballet will delight audiences of all ages. In its review, the Las Vegas Review-Journal declared that the production "deserved bravos' within minutes of the opening steps." The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 by former Bolshoi Ballet star Sergei Radchenko, who appeared in principal roles alongside such legends as Maya Plitsetskaya and Maris Liepa. Radchenko sought to realize his vision of a company that would fuse the utmost classical elements of the illustrious Bolshoi and Maryinsky ballet companies.Tickets are $40 for adults and $36 for youth under 17.
