Make Your Own Japanese Windsock

September 26, 2017

Allegany County Library System

The Allegany County Library System is offering another free studio art class in the series called Young Artists' Studio at the library. Local fabric artist, watercolorist, and teacher, Lita Havens says that this year's series will focus on different countries' art and culture.

The class titled "Make Your Own Japanese Windsock" will be held on Tuesday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the South Cumberland Library on Seymour Street.

The goal is to have students gain a clearer understanding of mixed media while making a beautiful project, learn art vocabulary, and learn about Japanese culture. The art supplies will be provided: cut out Japanese paper carp fishes, crayons, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, liquid watercolor and acrylic paper.

To register for the class or for more information, call the South Cumberland Library at 301-724-1607.
