Allegany County Tourism Launches the Third Annual “Shop Small, Win Big” Contest
Shoppers could win cash prizes totaling $1,000 when they support small businesses, November 25 - December 21, 2022

November 23, 2022 - CUMBERLAND, MD - Allegany County Tourism will be giving away $1,000 in cash prizes during the 3rd Annual “Shop Small, Win Big” contest, valid November 25 through December 21, 2022.

In partnership with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, Cumberland Downtown Development Commission, Downtown Cumberland Business Association, and FrostburgFirst, shoppers who purchase online or in-person from small businesses in Allegany County, Maryland, during the contest period can submit their shopping receipts as entries that will qualify them to win weekly drawings for $50 Visa gift cards as well as the grand prize drawing for a $550 Visa gift card.

“The collective goal of this holiday campaign is to encourage shopping locally during the holiday season,” says Jessica Palumbo, Marketing and Sales Manager for Allegany County Tourism. “As the holiday season ushers in consumer spending, it is important to support the small businesses that make up the fabric of our community, and this is our way of driving awareness and supporting our community.”

To enter the contest, participants must submit a separate entry form for each qualifying purchase; there is no minimum purchase required, and there is no limit on the number of entries a person can submit. Drawings for the $50 Visa gift cards will take place on December 1, 8, and 15, and the grand prize drawing for the $550 Visa gift card will take place on December 22, 2022. The hope is that winners of the gift cards will reinvest those dollars back into the community throughout the holiday season.
