About Allegany County Tourism

As the official tourism organization for Allegany County, Maryland, Allegany County Tourism is a local government office under Allegany County Economic and Community Development. Allegany County Tourism is funded by a portion of the visitor-paid hotel/motel tax and acts as good stewards of this tax by reinvesting into destination promotion and awareness. Our office is an all-inclusive model for businesses in Allegany County; however, we believe in a regional approach and will partner with out-of-county businesses and opportunities, with the ultimate goal of promoting Allegany County, Maryland.

2024 Visit Mountain Maryland Destination Guide Opportunities

Allegany County Tourism is excited to once again produce the official 2024 Destination Guide for Allegany County, the Mountain Side of Maryland. The ‘Visit Mountain Maryland Destination Guide’ is Allegany County, Maryland’s primary and premier physical marketing collateral. Published annually, the Destination Guide is designed with a strong focus on regional storytelling and inspiring photography. It is the go-to guide for destination inspiration on where to stay, where to eat, and what to do when traveling to Mountain Maryland.

Guide Features:

  • Distribution:  70,000 guides printed and distributed annually.
  • Major Markets: Distribution in major travel markets including Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC.
  • Digital Guide: A downloadable digital version increases the exposure, reach, and overall usage of the guide.

Destination Guide Participation Forms

Advertising

We urge you to give full consideration to participation.  Not only does the 2024 Destination Guide put your business and its messaging in front of thousands of targeted customers cost effectively, but your participation also demonstrates community support for the growing tourism industry in Mountain Maryland! In order to participate in advertising, simply complete the advertising agreement linked below by February 29, 2024, to reserve your spot. An Early Bird Discount of 10% will be applied to advertisers who reserve their spot with deposit by January 31, 2024.

 
Lodging, Dining, and Museum Guide Forms

The 2024 Visit Mountain Maryland Destination Guide includes a Lodging, Dining and Museum guide for our visitors. This form is separate from our Destination Guide advertising program, and completion of this form is required to be listed for FREE in the Lodging, Dining, or Museum guide. If your business qualifies for one of these business/organization categories, please complete the appropriate form linked below to be included.

This is key for consistency. Through time and participation, this will create a highly recognizable brand for our community and our visitors.
