Allegany County Tourism Recognized with Two Statewide Marketing Awards at the 44th Annual Maryland Travel and Tourism Summit

November 21, 2025 - CUMBERLAND, MD – Allegany County Tourism was honored with two prestigious Maryland Tourism Coalition Marketing Awards during the 44th Annual Maryland Travel & Tourism Summit (MTTS), held November 17–19 at The Hotel at the University of Maryland. The summit brought together more than 200 tourism and hospitality professionals from across the state for three days of education, collaboration, and celebration of Maryland’s thriving tourism industry.

Allegany County Tourism received top recognition in the ‘Best Product or Event – Small’ category for its Mountain Maryland Orange Crush Trail, a signature food and beverage experience inspired by one of Maryland’s most iconic cocktails. The trail, launched earlier this year, showcases creative Orange Crush twists from locally owned restaurants throughout the county and quickly became a standout visitor experience.

The team also earned honors as part of a regional collaboration, winning ‘Best Digital Campaign’ alongside Visit Montgomery, Visit Frederick, Visit Hagerstown & Washington County CVB, and the Maryland Office of Tourism for the multi-county Let’s Go C&O digital campaign. This cooperative marketing effort leveraged shared brand storytelling to inspire exploration along the C&O Canal and generated strong engagement across all participating destinations.

“These awards are a testament to the creativity, collaboration, and passion driving tourism in Mountain Maryland,” said Ashli Workman, Director of Tourism. “The Orange Crush Trail has become such a fun, high-energy way to showcase our local businesses, and being part of the winning ‘Let’s Go C&O’ team demonstrates the power of working together regionally. We’re incredibly proud to be recognized statewide among so many innovative partners.”

The MTTS Marketing Awards celebrate excellence in destination marketing, spotlighting organizations whose work elevates Maryland’s tourism industry through compelling storytelling, strategic partnerships, and high-impact promotion.
