Introducing the Mountain Maryland Orange Crush Trail
A coastal classic gets a mountain makeover to celebrate Maryland’s new official State Cocktail.

JULY 17, 2025 – CUMBERLAND, MD - The Orange Crush may have been born by the beach, but it’s now thriving in the mountains. Allegany County, the Mountain Side of Maryland, is proud to announce the launch of the Mountain Maryland Orange Crush Trail, a refreshing celebration of Maryland’s newly declared official cocktail.

The Orange Crush—an iconic mix of vodka, triple sec, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and lemon-lime soda—has officially earned its place in state history. On June 1, 2025, the Maryland General Assembly named it the State Cocktail, paying tribute to its Ocean City roots. Now, Allegany County is giving this coastal classic a mountainside twist with a self-guided trail that pairs the citrusy sparkle of an Orange Crush with mountain views, vibrant downtowns, and the region’s signature laid-back charm.

“Whether you’re fresh off a hike or relaxing on a downtown patio, the Mountain Maryland Orange Crush Trail brings a fresh-squeezed experience to every kind of traveler,” said Ashli Workman, Director of Allegany County Tourism.  “It’s a nod to our love of a Maryland tradition, with a mountain state of mind.”
