Five Tips for Your Polar Express Adventure

Plan for mountain weather. Allow extra travel time during winter weather and check with the railroad for any operational updates before departing.
-
Check accessibility options. Accessibility varies among the railroad's historic passenger cars. Contact the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad before booking to discuss wheelchair access, mobility accommodations, and boarding assistance.
Make Time for One More Stop: Before boarding, explore the C&O Canal National Historical Park visitor center, located inside the historic Western Maryland Railway Station. Check seasonal operating hours when planning your visit.
