Moonlight on the Mountain

June 30
Western Maryland Scenic Railroad

Boarding for Moonlight on the Mountain begins at 7:00 pm and the train will depart at 7:30 pm. Enjoy acoustic music, a full-service bar, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres aboard the train as you climb Mountain Maryland to Frostburg and return. The train will pause for 20-minutes in Frostburg. This special train departs from and returns to Cumberland.

 

46th Annual Frostburg Elks Derby Day

July 1
Downtown Frostburg, MD

Join the City of Frostburg for their 46th Annual Soapbox Derby Race. This event started with parents and children building, painting, and then racing a wooden derby car down Main Street decades ago. It has evolved over the years but still allows attendees to take a step back in time to family gatherings, meeting old and new friends, and watching the joy of children race all while strolling up and down historic Main Street in Frostburg. 

 

Oak Barrel Cafe Classic Cruise-in

Oak Barrel Cafe - Little Orleans, MD

Shine that classic car and head to the mountains for the Oak Barrel Vintage Car Show. Get a close-up look at beautiful vehicles from a long-ago era that brings back the memories. While there, be sure to stop inside for classic ice cream favorites such as a banana split or sundae, all part of Allegany County's Ice Cream Trail.

 

Sunday in the Park Concert Series

July 2
Constitution Park - Cumberland, MD

Every Sunday, beginning at 7:30 pm, join the City of Cumberland at the Constitution Park Amphitheatre for an evening concert under the stars. All concerts are free and open to the public. The July 2nd series will feature Replay Vintage Pop. 

 

Maryland License Free Fishing Day

Allegany County, MD

July 4 is a free fishing day! No fishing license is needed on this day so take an adult who has not been fishing in a while or introduce someone who has never been fishing before. 4th of July Celebration on Historic Washington Street

Washington Street - Cumberland, MD

Celebrate Independence Day and watch the fireworks from historic Washington Street in Cumberland, starting at 6:00 pm. The celebration will feature live music from Surrender Dorothy, DJ Mark Stevens playing patriotic music during the fireworks, as well as food and drinks. Come out and enjoy an evening of music, food, friends, and fireworks! 

 

George's Creek Fireworks Celebration

July 4
Westmar Middle School Field - Lonaconing, MD

DHS Productions is proud to present the George’s Creek Fireworks Celebration, with food, games, prizes, music, entertainment, fireworks, and more. Gates open at 5:00 pm, fireworks presented at approximately 9:30 pm. You won’t want to miss it. Turtle Treats will be there with sno-cones, popcorn, cotton candy, and delicious funnel cakes. B-Rad’s pizza trailer will be there as well as Bradley’s ice cold lemonade. Donations accepted, and don’t miss a chance on the 50/50 raffle.
